Our Story
kindMANkind was conceived in Boston, MA, in 2018 as a final term paper for a public-health ethics class on individual and social responsibility for health. The paper outlined a novel strategy for global humanitarian aid delivery that didn't require a middle man. We aim to connect those in most need directly with donors using online profiles, a network of trackable, refillable, encrypted, donation debit cards, and leveraging ever-improving global internet access, and cell phone ownership.
kindMANkind came to life in Atlanta, GA, in 2019. While working in downtown Atlanta, co-founder, Dr. Hess, saw many of his patients unable to complete cancer treatments because of relatively inexpensive social barriers like transportation, lack of funds for medications, or homelessness. He saw economic & health benefits of a domestic platform for peer-to-peer trackable aid.
By making charity a part of the shared digital economy, kindMANkind aims to empower existing charities and charitable individuals with the tools needed to aim their aid and follow the progress of those they help.
